Hi, Welcome to No BS Job Search Counseling Radio and I’m Jeff Altman, Big Game Hunter. It’s Saturday and what are you doing? Writing a resume? Is that really what you want to do? Especially considering the fact that you are amateur on this. You are not a professional.
How many resumes have you written in your career? And the problem is that you are not an expert and it takes 10,000 hours of focused efforts to be able to become an expert on this. So you will run out to miss the possibilities and cost yourself money. Does it make a lot of sense? On this show, I make a case for not only having the best resume that you can write but the best resume.

So here we go. I’m back with more no BS recording of advice for you. And I just want to start by saying I will continue to give you good advice on how to improve your resume.
But I will ask you a little more basic questions. Want to write the best resume that you as a developer or accountant, engineer, car mechanic, no matter what your profession is, do you want to write the best resume you can write? Or do you want the best resume? 99.9% of the time there is a very big difference between what you can write and what a professional can write. After all, everything that each of you in your profession may be the best person you are on what you do.
And when your friend comes to you to get advice on it, you can see that they are an amateur and you can help them. Well, a professional resume writer can also help you in about the same way. They can construct a good basic resume.
Now they are not able to write a resume for every single job that you may want to apply for. There you can tailor your resume, the basic resume that they create for one that suits every single job. But they will give you a good basic resume that will be effective far more and far better than what you can do.

It will take them less time. And you can fine -tune it a little when you get it back. But when everything is said and done as I said, you will write the best resume you could do or do you want the best resume? I think there’s a profound difference.
