More than 52 years ago, the release of their last record is the surviving members of the English blues rockers faces preparing a new album.
Words about the upcoming LP were shared by Faces -drummer Kenney Jones in an interview with The telegraph. The article itself notes that the band has been teasing an album for four years now, with Rod Stewart, confirming its existence in 2021, and again in 2024 claims that “We are not finished yet, but we are done this year, I promise.”
In his latest conversation, Jones revealed that he and his bandmates have recorded “About 11 Numbers” at Rak Studios in London. Jones also confirmed that musician and TV personality folded Jools the Netherlands also contributed to a track. “Not all of them will be right [for the album]”He noticed.” But most of them are good.
“I can’t see it coming out this year,” he added. “But I can see it coming out next year. Everyone is doing different things. We do small excerpts [of recording] Here and there. Then suddenly the stones are out [on tour] Again, Rod is again … ”
First formed in 1969 as a result of a merger between members of small faces and Jeff Beck Group, faces existed for only six years before guitarist Ronnie Wood left to participate in the Rolling Stones, and Stewart continued his ongoing solo career.
The group would release four albums throughout their careers with the 1971s A nod is as good as a blink … to a blind horse become their most successful and hit # 6 on Billboard 200. The record would spawn the single “Stay with me”, which peaked at No. 17 on Hot 100 and would be followed by their final study release, Ooh La LaIn 1973.
While the founding of bassist Ronnie Lane would go away in 1997, keyboardist Ian McLagan would also pass in 2014. Although a number of reunification would take place in the years since their original resolution, faces have been considered a bit of an ongoing concern since their performance of “Staying with Me” by 2020 Brit Awards.
Stewart is currently scheduled to perform in Legends Sunday Evening Legends at the Glastonbury Festival in 2025, with a number of Las Vegas stay dates that will also run until October.
