1. An ability to motivate, engage and lead others
Leadership is the ability, simply speaking, to leading others and themselves. We all have a preconceived picture of what leadership represents, and this is largely promised by the ruling media, culture and society. Leadership should appropriately be regarded as the ability to motivate, engage and lead others to achieve a tangible goal or realize a vision, to guide others and play a role in becoming the best versions of themselves. – Ketan Kulkarni, Savvy doctor
2. Resist the urge to jump in
Leadership is about being a gardener, not a firefighter. Instead of solving the problem for your team and putting the fire, be a gardener and create the right conditions to allow your plants to grow and thrive. By strengthening your team, requesting their input and letting them run with projects and solutions, you increase their commitment, develop their skills and create an environment where team members can do their best work. However, it is really easy to be a “firefighter leader” – which fits the first smell of smoke, ready to extinguish the fire and solve the problem. This approach does little to encourage employee engagement and development. At Flip, strong leaders allow their team to solve problems, contribute ideas and take risks. They are like gardeners and create the optimal conditions for team members to grow and thrive. Coaching, recognition, encouraging and mentoring are all part of “Gardener Leader’s Toolkit. – Michelle Schapher, Michelle Schapher Coaching Founder
3. To make choices you can stand behind
Leadership is the decision to step up and take responsibility for the choices you make in life, and this on a personal all good as a professional level. To be aware that the choices you make not only affect you and your life, but also have a ring effect on the people around you. Called the responsible way of life; It is the philosophy I live by and that I teach my clients so that they can become leaders who are happy with the choices and decisions they make, and consequently contributes to the bigger good – for me, for you, for us! – Annemie Decatte, Mindset Coach & Communication Strategist
4. To be at the service of the people
Leadership is about strengthening and inspiring others to reach a goal or help them become their best self. Leadership requires integrity, interpersonal skills, empathy, self -awareness, communication, trust and vision. The essence of leadership is people and to be at the service of the people. Effective leadership affects and transforms people’s lives and inspires them to strengthen and inspire another to their greatness. – Dr. Joi brown, Career strategist, Life Coach & Empowerment -taler
5. Following your heart
Leadership is about having the courage to exploit and follow your present moment intuitive universal wisdom and invite others to be guided by their own heartfelt wisdom in response, thereby replacing fear -based interactions between defense and judgment with unlimited creative potential. – Pia Antico, Joy Restart Mentor
6. Listening and learning to achieve the vision
The more senior you are in an organization, the more your job is to set the vision for its success. Your work involves inspiring others to do world -class work in the service of the organization and its wishes. To distinguish between inspiration and motivation, motivation is lit a fire under someone. Inspiration glows a fire within anyone. From a task view, leadership also involves listening and learning about the roadblocks that exist to perform the vision. And remove the institutional friction that hinder talented people from staying inspired and performing world -class work in the service of the vision. – – Jeff Altman, Career and leader trainer
