Hello! I am Jeff Altman, Big Game Hunter, and this is part four in my series about the change of careers. I hope some things have been perchroled for you so far. If not, go back and dig deeper because the idea of this is that I want you to think about things and become clearer about what becomes important to you in your career and in your life and life is the next part of this because we can’t partly.
We cannot divide work and life as clearly as some think we should. How does it work for you to make them different things? I think it’s all part of the same thing that is the life you live. So I will invite you to look at a few different things today, and again, as always, I want you to take notes and spend time with us.
So the first thing I want you to look at is your health. How are you physically at this time? I’ve said other places that I try, though I might, my weight came away from me and one day I woke up to weight more than I ever had before in my life and it was pretty amazing. So I’ve been working on my health, working with a coach, and it’s become really important for me is to get my weight down and be in shape.
I had the pleasure this morning that my wife said I look younger. It’s really cool. Do you know what kind of environment will I live in? Is it an urban area? Is it a rural area? If it’s urban, what type of neighborhood do you want to live in? Where is your ideal place to live in the world because many people these days can work anywhere in the world.
What kind of income do you need? What do you need to support yourself and your family? What goals do you have for your future? Your family. Is it important to you? Not only do I just talk about your immediate family, but your big family, for example, you know aging parents. Maybe you are the aging parent and you will be closer to your children.
How does it fit in? Need to have some flexibility to spend time with them? Want to be able to go to children’s football matches? To use the classic example. What kind of personal development goals do you have? What kind of growth do you want in your life? You know we tend to focus on work so much that we tend to think about ourselves. . . Forget about thinking of ourselves as being a student in our lives, and that we really have to excel we need to learn and grow to master our circumstances. These are all things you need to sit down and think about and take some time with.
Minimally one hour. Seriously, minimally an hour to this exercise and teach your lessons from it and apply it to your life. I’ll come back with another tip to help you with your changing careers.
