By Jeff Altman, Big Game Hunter

The events in the last two years have shown that even massively profitable companies are willing to finance the repurchase of shares through redundancies, regardless of the human toll. No matter how financially successful a company is displayed, you cannot trust them for stable employment anymore. All you can trust is your professional network.

If your business has undergone recent redundancies, it is crucial to activate your network – both for your future prospects and to support your Former colleagues. If you were lucky Enough to keep your jobDo not just breathe a sigh of relief. Reach out to those who were released. Call them, send them a friendly message and let them know you are available to give references, make introductions or Help their job search In any way you can.

At the same time, connections reactivate in your wider professional circle. Let People know You have talented friends seeking new roles. Offer to share their resume and success stories. The people you build strong bonds with today can help you help you find your next position when the tables inevitably turn again.

If you were among the dismissed, you can resist any feelings of shame or embarrassment. This is part of the new business cycle, driven by factors outside your control. Talk up and ask your remaining colleagues about their support. An introduction or recommendation of someone who can guarantee your skills and work ethics can make all the difference in landing your next option.

In today’s unpredictable environment are the people you care for in your true long -term support system. Five years from now, you are grateful that you took the time to build the human connections. Because no matter how many billions of companies are, stable employment is an outdated concept. An activated network you can trust through the inevitable ups and downs is invaluable.
