By using Semrush’s extensive proprietary keyword database and AI-machine learning algorithms, the subject report identifies and groups a domain’s top-ranked pages and their associated keywords in coherent topics. These subject groups reflect how Google perceives the domain thematically, providing a clear overview of its content forces and focus areas.

Topics Report interface simplifies competitor research by visually organizing their strongest non-branded pages in topics. Each tile provides a snapshot of its performance showing traffic, search volume and average keyword rate (KD%) – and helps you prioritize the topics with the highest potential.

In addition to identifying the most effective topics, the subject report gives an in -depth overview of how well competitors cover specific themes on their sites. For each topic, you can explore the number of pages (sub -topics), the aspects of the topic they are addressing, and the traffic each one generates.
Barley and manage keyword clusters
The subject report contains keyword clusters that are ready to use, based on a domain’s top -placed pages, giving you a strong starting point for your content strategy. Each cluster is carefully organized and can be immediately exported to trouble -free integration into your workflow.
In addition to exporting, you can copy clusters to your clipboard for quick sharing or additional use. The tool also allows you to add these keywords to Keyword Strategy Builder, where you can organize them further or supplement them with your own custom keywords.
Understand subjects and pages
In this report, a topic is a broad topic that covers multiple related pages of a site, while a page is a sub -topic within that topic that provides more detailed information.
For example, for the domain Macrostax.com, the report offers measurements on the site’s six main topics, which are covered over 101 pages. The topic of “Nutrition Calculations and Information” includes pages such as “Sushi Bake Calories” and “Chicken Quesadilla Calories.”
For each main topic you can see:
- Estimated monthly organic traffic
- Overall search volume (of the keywords for which these pages rank)
- Number of pages within each subject
- Average keywordswood degree (KD%) for each side topic
