The celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Vive Latino festival turned into a big party on Saturday (March 15), with rhythms such as Rock and Cumbia, which took the middle scene through the voices of some of their biggest exponents, including Mexican bands Caifanes, Los Ángeles Azules and El Gran Silencio.
On its first activity day, the musical collection that returned after a year gathered to its original place at Estadio GDP Seguros (formerly Foro Sol), according to Promotor Ocesa.
One of the most expected and applauded performances was by the legendary group of Los Ángeles Azules, which made a victorious return to the popular music festival 12 years after their memorable debut. Meanwhile, Caifanes added a social touch by tackling themes such as the crisis for femicides in Mexico and migration during their main scene.
There were big surprises, just as the much -expected debut of the new artist Macario Martínez at Vive Latino. In addition to his solo act on the Carpa intolerant scene, he was invited to perform with the band Little Jesus. Emotional highlights of a day’s marathon included the appearance of Molotov’s guitarist and vocalist, Tito Fuentes, who joined his bandmates near their set to celebrate the band’s 30th anniversary after he previously announced he was taking a health-related hiatus.
Emmanuel “Meme” del real, keyboardist for the popular band Café Tacvba, also delivered one of the most special performances showing new songs from his solo repertoire. Another prominent moment came from the German band Scorpions, who fulfilled a promise to their Mexican fans after canceling their performance at the festival last year.
Day One of the festival also saw appearances from Spanish and English -speaking actions, including Nortec: Bostich + Fussible, Él Mató a FN Policía Motorizado, promoting the people, Guapos, Caloncho and Jesse Baez.
Sunday (March 16) the festival continues with performances by Zoé, Mon Lafete, Atreciopelados, Sepultura, Keane, Draco Rosa, Los K’ComXtles, Eden Muñoz, Kany García, Porter, Rüfüs du Sol and Cuarteto de Nos. For the second year in a row, and thanks to a partnership with Amazon Music, concerts can be streamed free of charge through the digital platform.

Caifanes for women and immigrants
The iconic Mexican rock band Caifanes emerged for the third time in their careers at the music festival, in one of the most famous and remarkable performances on Saturday. Led by vocalist songwriter Saúl Hernández performed the band their new single “Y Caíste” live for the first time.
They also took the opportunity to speak against the femicide crisis that plagued Mexico, taking a few minutes to screen the video for “Canción his Miedo” by singer-songwriter Vivir Quintana, dedicated to the feminist fight against gender-based violence leaving 10 women who were murdered every day. “A round of applause for the women who have created history in this country. Femicides have not stopped and we require them to stop. We will continue to speak against it, ”said Hernández in International Women’s Month.
Classics from the band like “No Dejes Que”, “Afuera” and “Nubes” were part of Caifanes’ setlist. The closure coverage of Manu Chao’s popular song “Clandestino” was dedicated to immigrants after the band declared that “no human being is illegal.”

Los Ángeles Azules returned to Vive Latino almost 13 years after their memorable debut at the Rock Festival. The group dedicated their show to the memory of Porfirio Mejía García, the father of the basic members of this legendary band who have had all Latin America and beyond dance.
When they returned to the festival, the group, along with singers Natalia Lafourcade, Belinda, Ximena Sariñana and Denise Gutiérrez (Hello Seaahorse!) To perform some of their classics such as “El Listón de Tu Pelo” and “Entrega de Amor.” With Lafourcade, they performed a new version of their song “Nunca Es Bastant.”
“Welcome. This is Cumbia!” It was heard from the scene and loosening euphoria among fans in the audience showing their best dance traits.

Molotov celebrates 30 -year anniversary
Following the announcement of the temporary retirement of Molotov’s vocalist and guitarist, Tito Fuentes, due to health reasons, the musician made a surprising performance on Saturday during the rock group’s performance at Vive Latino to celebrate the band’s 30 -year anniversary with his bandmates.
“He came. This was the surprise, ”Paco Ayala told the thousands of people who participated in the show. Fuentes joined his bandmates, including Micky Huidobro, Randy Ebright and Jay de la Cueva. The latter, a former founding member of the quartet, replaces Fuentes under his “physical and mental” rehabilitation.
Molotov also dedicated a song to immigrants trying to move to the United States to fulfill the so -called “American Dream.” “A song for immigrants,” said Huidobro, before performing “Frijolero.”

Macario Martínez packs intolerant tent
The new musician Macario Martínez, who recently gained popularity after going from street sweeper to Tiktok Sensation, was also one of the stars today one at the Rock Festival. The Mexico City-born songwriter packed the intolerant tent where thousands of people gathered to witness his debut at the Chilango festival.
There, the folk musician sang not only the trouble that made him famous on digital platforms, “Sueña Bonito, Corazón,” in a regional Mexican version, but also other songs with which he begins to make his mark on the music scene.
Martínez, who recently recorded Collab “Esa Noche” with Eslabón Armadad for the group’s album Vibras de noche iialso appeared as a special guest under the Mexican rock band Little Jesus Set.

MEME DEL REAL DEBAGE
Meme del Real debuted on stage at a larger festival after 35 years of history with Café Tacvba. Keyboardist for the famous rock quartet performed some of the songs that make up his first solo album, still Untitled, as well as Tacvba hits from his own creation, such as “Aviéntame”, which were shown on the soundtrack of Amores PerrosThe Oscar-nominated film by Alejandro González Iñárritu.
The setlist also included “Princesa”, his new solo single as well as Cafe Tacvbas “Eres” and “Quiero Ver.”
