Charli XCX, Chappell Roan & More

Charli XCX gave the Brit Awards one Abrupt Makeover Saturday night (Mar 1) by scooping the biggest prizes at night, including the coveted album of this year’s award.

When she spoke when she collected the award of the year, Charli said: “I used to tell myself things like this was not important and it was easy for me to do, because until last year I was not nominated for anything. I always felt like an outsider in the British music industry, so it feels nice to be recognized on this album when I haven’t actually sacrificed anyone. ”

Abrupt was one of 2024’s defining items that landed on No. 1 on Britain’s official album diagrams and on No. 3 on Billboard 200. It was named Billboard The staff’s album of the year.

Prices took place at the O2 Arena in London and hosted the comedian Jack Whitehall for a fifth time.

Elsewhere, it was a great evening for Chappell Roan who prevailed in the international artist and international singing categories and beat competition from Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish and Beyoncé.

Sabrina Carpenter opened the show with a two-song medley of “Espresso” and “Bed Chem” and collected Honor Global Success Award.

Baroque-pop group The last dinner party performed “Nothing matters” and picked up the best new artist. Like Smith, they used their speech to advocate the small venues in the UK

Raye won the best R&B Act, and Stormzy shouted his colleague nominated central CEE as he prevailed in the best hip-hop/grime/rap.
