Chasing your dream

By Jeff Altman, Big Game Hunter

JC Escarra was a first Baseman with Baltimore Orioles when he was cut out of the team in 2002. Newlyweds he worked 5 jobs to continue to pay his mortgage loan and help care for his family. Uber Drive, Food Delivering, Compensation Teaching. He did what he could to continue.

When he decided to try once and now a catcher, he signed a contract to come to training camp with New York Yankees. Yankees is a team of high expectations and a demanding fanbase. He was now a catcher and third on the depth card at the time of his signature.

Being called into the manager’s office at the end of the training camp is rarely good news for a fringe player. The meeting with manager Boone was an exception. But Boone set the stage to scare him and then told him he made the team.

If you don’t think that making his dream come true meant something to him, see him as he calls his mother and tells her.

Most people I know have given up their dreams. They accept one job after another, but never feel the excitement like what Escarra felt when he was told would become a Yankee, a great Leaguer again.

Do you have a dream?

Do you remember what your dream was?

What can you do to chase it now?

What is possible now to move yourself to your current dream?
