Tired of recruiters that don’t show up for meetings or respond to calls or e emails? It is frustrating and unprofessional. This #short gives you a winning tactic about how to handle recruiters that get up several times and how to protect your time and job search.
Job search hell? Don’t take it out on recruiters
What is the best way to deal with a recruiter who reached out to you that has got you up several times? Ah, I love this one. I talked about a situation, um, this kind of a situation with someone I coached yesterday, oh, oh, oh, he loved my suggestion.
Let’s say, you know, a deal is planned several times. It doesn’t matter if it’s you know a third -party recruiter from an agency or a business recruiter, and now you’ve been set up several times. You’ve emailed them, “Hi, what’s going on? You didn’t call me,” and they don’t answer.
I have found that this technique is a good way to make them surface, right? The motive line for your next E email says, “Are you okay?” And the body reads, “You know we were planned by talking a few times. I didn’t receive a call. I just want to secure me: Are you okay?”
Now it takes the relationship out of the professional to one where they – you think of them as a human being. Uh, and recruiters are a little surprised by this approach. So what often happens is that they flush out, oh, and they say, “Oh, I’m okay. Sorry, something last minute came up.” But what you are able to do is separate yourself from the package and they will usually start to answer there.
Then again the idea will be, “Are you okay?” is the subject line. And then your message is a polite thing. It’s not a furious thing that all too often happens, whether it’s a company or third party. And you know, just ask them, you know, “We were planned on a few occasions. You know I didn’t receive the call. I just want to secure me …”
