The message lands next to the release of the album’s second single, “So Sorry,” Out Today (May 28).

Marking a significant shift away from John Butler Trio Moniker, Prism Was registered completely solo with producer James Ireland (Pond, San Cisco), who carried out instrumentation and production tasks. “It’s a big life and the world is in many ways in turmoil. Personally, I did a lot of soul -seeking and reflected when this record took shape,” Butler divided into a statement.

“For me, Prism is a catartic release, a celebration of going solo, moving away from the John Butler trio monitor, and another sonic stretch as I continue to refine my musical journey. The title reflects the sonic and emotional” bandwidth “, I would explore: the whole spectrum of what it is to be human.

Butler added, “On the deeply reflective single ‘, so upset,’ Butler explores the long shadows thrown by persistent conditions.” You meet as ‘kids’ and if you’re lucky you learn to regulate and grow up together. But no one comes out undamaged. “

Prism are part three in Butler’s ambitious Four Seasons Project, after the 2024s Running river (a surrounding meditation album) and Still looking (an all-instrumental LP). Described as both “contemplative and explosive”, the upcoming release promises an eclectic mix of festival-clear hymns, groove-tung rock and soul-seeking ballads.

Butler performed at Bluesfest earlier this year and is ready to start a major American tour over June, July and August, with Australian headline dates to be announced soon.

One of Australia’s most successful independent artists, Butler’s accolades include several Platinum Records, Aria Awards and several No. 1 albums on Aria Albums Chart. His 2018 LP HOME Debuted at # 1 and saw him experiment with extended instrumentation and electronic structures paved the way for Prism‘s continued Sonic Evolution.
