Mötley Crüe has been forced to cancel an upcoming festival appearance as Frontmand Vince Neil continues to recover from a non -revealed medical procedure.
Hollywood Rock veterans announced Thursday (April 3) that they would no longer perform at the Boardwalk Rock Festival in Ocean City, MD on May 17 as previously planned. The two-day festival had originally included Mötley Crüe, co-headlining the opening night with DEF LEPPARD, while it would close with Nickelback and Shinedown the next day.
In a statement, the group explained that they would not be able to act because of Neil’s need to continue to “recover from a required medical procedure recently advised by his doctors.”
“Vince’s health comes first, and we fully support him in prioritizing his improvement,” they wrote. “Join us in wishing him well.
“We sincerely apologize to everyone who looked forward to the show and appreciated your understanding,” the statement continued. “Our friends Alice in chains are confirmed to take our place on May 17, and we are tremendously grateful to them for them to step up and bring their amazing show to Boardwalk Rock. Thanks to all the crüheads for your continued support. We can’t wait for Vince to fully recover and to be back on stage soon.”
News about the Mötley Crües Festival -Annullering is coming at a time when the band was originally scheduled to perform as part of a Las Vegas stay at Dolby Live at Park MGM. At the beginning of March, the band announced that the dates – originally scheduled to run in 11 shows from March 28 to April 19 – would now take place throughout September and early October instead. Neil’s health was also quoted as the reason for this redevelopment.
“To all the crüheads that looked forward to seeing us in the spring, I’m really sorry,” Neil wrote in a statement. “My health is my highest priority so I can give you the amazing shows you deserve and I can’t wait to return to the scene. Thank you for all the successful desires that continue to reach me. Your support means more than you know.”
Although Neil has not provided any insight into what his recent medical procedure was, Mötley Crüe’s current tournament plan is empty, with the exception of their re -planned LAS Vegas dates, indicating that no further cancellations will occur in the near future to help with his recreation.
