The aggressive problem

“There are sharks and minnows in the world. If you don’t know which one you are, you’re not the shark.”

I usually take a casual tone with what I write, but I am aware of what smart economic people warn about in 2023. Bloomberg said they think there is a 100% probability of a recession next year. A CNBC study of economists released today said they expect a modest recession in 2023.

I don’t know what a modest recession is. It is either or is not a recession. I would also say that I have never seen a soft landing in my many years listening to financial journalists reporting the subject.

My encouragement to you is to look at recession-proof your career, not your job. Recession-proofing Your job is not in your control. Recession-proofing your career is. I have a YouTube -playlist It will offer a few ideas. Most are <1 minute. I don't think anyone is more than 5 minutes. Take action now on a few of the ideas.

In your current workplace, if you have the opportunity to influence action and/or change, you need to start pushing people to be more aggressive with your business competition and doesn’t just look to build new. Try taking sales from your competition.

When times become more difficult, the cake is smaller. You want some of your competitor’s pie.

Take my vote to share your thoughts about your job and the job market.

Here are a few things to do proactively if you are laid off. After all, once you are told, they will not give you much time to get your data.

Job hunting, work, heck, life is sometimes difficult to navigate. What do you remember when this happens?

Despite ongoing global uncertainty and high -profile redundancies, the labor markets remain resistant

Have you seen LinkedIn’s State of the Labor Market released today? The first 3 points of the report are:

  • The large switch has been transformed into a period of great discrepancy, where the demand for external work opportunities continues to exceed the supply.
  • Payments in media, technology and information continue in a labor market that is still robust, but to slow down the degree of employment suggests that rebalans in the labor market are underway.
  • Workers begin to protect themselves a little more as the uncertainty is gathering. This is a 180 degree turn from last year as members changed jobs grew by 50% a year.

There is much more worth reading in it.

Businesses are changing to looking for people who can take someone else’s lunch. This is not just about sellers. It’s about a change of attitude.

When I wrote this newsletter, I received a message that I was the recipient of the Brainz 500 Global Award.
